Esri Infrastructure Management & GIS Conference

On the 27th-30th October 2020, Esri Infrastructure Management & GIS took place and of course we were there! Due to coronavirus measures this year was held online. The conference traditionally opened by the Plenary session, where the president of the company, Jack Dangermond, emphasized the importance of digitalization and its acceleration thanks to the covid-19 pandemic.

The most interesting information for us was the cooperation between ArcGIS and AutoCAD. ArcGIS now allows direct connection from ArcGIS Pro to BIM 360 and direct loading of BIM models into the GIS environment. ArcGIS does not try to replace AutoCAD’s functionality! One software takes full advantage of the functionality of the other one to make them the most powerful solution for users in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction.
